A bachelor’s degree is, of course, also needed. “B.S. in computer science or similar experience” is a phrase that many recruiting managers will use.

“Certs like (the) Google IT help cert, and particularly some of the higher cloud-focused ones, will give an applicant an advantage for employers who consider workforce experience as a means of education,” Ware says.
